Fire risk analysis of welding and cutting operation

On November 20, 1996, the illegal electric welding in Hong Kong Kerry building caused a fire, killing 40 people and burning 81 people. The fire continued to burn for 21 hours, causing serious economic losses. On August 26th, 1998, a fire broke out in the first people's Hospital of Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province, killing 14 people and injuring 14 people. The fire was caused by Chen Chaoxin, an unlicensed welder, who cut against regulations and splashed molten beads on sponges and other combustibles when removing the air from the purification room on the fourth floor of the inpatient building ③ when the screw rod limit spring was pressed too tightly. During electric welding, combustibles were ignited and a fire broke out, killing two workers. On July 21, 2005, a cold storage factory in shewobo Town, Qixia City, Shandong Province, was sentenced to imprisonment for major accident crime because of a fire caused by the wrong operation of electric welder Li, with a direct economic loss of more than 1.5 million yuan. The major fire accidents caused by electric welding, especially the great fire accident in Luoyang Dongdu building, not only have caused a huge impact on the local economic development and social stability, but also have attracted the high attention of the leaders of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, shocking both at home and abroad. So, what are the reasons why welding and cutting operations often cause fire and explosion accidents? It is true that the equipment and energy used in welding and cutting have certain fire hazards, but the main reason for the occurrence of fire and explosion accidents is not the equipment and energy itself. The vast majority of them are caused by people's mental paralysis, improper operation, lax system and ineffective implementation of safety measures in welding and cutting operations. Therefore, it is of great significance to analyze the fire risk of welding and cutting operations, find out the causes of common accidents, and explore the corresponding preventive countermeasures
